A Soap Bubble Portrait That Outlived the Moment
A soap bubble portrait lasts longer than the bubble itself. The colors in this one were already shifting as I pressed the shutter, and the moment was probably gone a second later. Photography kept it for me.
I found these photographs while looking through my archive. They were curled up in a corner, almost asleep, waiting to be noticed again. I took them with a 50mm lens during a photo walk with an old friend. I cannot remember the date or even the place now. Apparently, my memory is less reliable than my camera. 🙂
I had shared another portrait of the same friend before, with the Maiden’s Tower reflected in her sunglasses. This time, the bubble stole the frame.

Beautiful things can be like this: bright, delicate, and always about to disappear. A soap bubble can carry a whole little rainbow, then vanish without asking permission. We froze its very short life in a photograph. That is one of the things I love most about photography.
I hope my life becomes as colorful as the reflections on these bubbles. And yes, I hope photography is somewhere among those colors too. 🥰
It had been a long time since I shared a photo. I probably wrote a few silly things again, but never mind. These photographs brought them out of me.
Enjoy the photos, dear friends. 😊
