Fire Sparks at Night Look Like a Tangled Thought
Fire sparks at night rarely stay still long enough to be polite. They twist, cross and vanish against the black, leaving a bright mess that looks almost drawn by hand. This frame is full of orange trails, with a small bed of coals glowing underneath.
A Forest Evening in Orange Light
I went to a forest around Göktürk with a friend and her boyfriend for an evening outdoors. There was wine, a grill and the kind of relaxed night that does not need a schedule. I do not remember the year anymore. I only remember that the fire kept making new shapes.
Fire sparks at night can make a photograph feel more like a thought than a record. Every line takes a different direction, then disappears before it can settle. The longer I look, the more the image resembles my brain on a busy day: tangled, bright and quietly warning everyone not to touch it.
I took this photograph during that evening because the chaos felt honest. A small fire can hold a whole mood: warmth, conversation, smoke, a little danger and the pleasure of watching something change every second. The frame does not need to explain the night. The sparks are already telling it.
What does a fire make you want to do first: talk, stay quiet, cook something or simply watch the sparks?
