When the Playground Starts to Move
The child looks straight toward me while the playground seems to spin away behind him. Panning photography keeps his face and the green edge of the ride close to stillness, while the park stretches into soft lines of color.
I made this photograph near Göztepe Park during one of the days I went out with my classmates. The children playing nearby became our small models for a while, and the movement of this round playground ride gave me a chance to try something playful.
What holds me here is not only the blur. It is the child's calm, curious expression inside all that motion. The world around him feels hurried, but his gaze gives the frame a steady center.
I have not practiced panning photography for a long time, yet photographs like this make me want to return to it. A different child from the same park appears in another frame, with the movement carrying a completely different feeling.
The next preview leads to that related photograph, where closed eyes and a rushing background turn the moment into something quieter.
Take good care of yourselves. 🥰
