The Bottle-Fed Lamb Could Make the World Wait
This bottle-fed lamb has exactly one concern in the world: finishing the milk. The bottle enters from the edge of the frame, the little mouth refuses to let go, and one enormous dark eye looks straight at us as if we are interrupting an important appointment. The rest of the journey can wait.
Was That a Cörk or a Compliment?
I remember this close-up from a trip to İğneada in 2013. The lamb was making a tiny cörk cörk sound while drinking, or perhaps I only decided that it was. I cannot remember now 😂 Either way, the photograph caught a perfect balance of hunger, trust and complete concentration.
This bottle-fed lamb does not need a wide landscape to tell us where the day went. The whole story is in the bottle, the soft pale face and that wonderfully serious eye. Some meals are ordinary. Some become the most adorable close-up in the entire memory of a trip.
