A Crow in Flight Above the Kinaliada Shore
A crow in flight does not wait for the photographer to become ready. Its wings open, the shoreline slips into a blur and the whole frame suddenly belongs to movement. This one left its perch during my walk around Kinaliada and gave me a photograph that feels restless and alive.
Do I like crows? The short answer is yes. I love them. They are intelligent, charismatic and wonderfully uncooperative models. I already have many crow photographs, and I know I will make many more.
I photographed this bird during a complete walk around Kinaliada. The sea, rocks and painted waterfront edge turned into a soft background while the crow lifted itself into the air.
I made the photograph with my Nikon D90 and 18–105 mm kit lens. The wings are not frozen into perfect sharpness, but that imperfection carries the speed of the moment. Sometimes a frame can be more honest because it did not stand still.
If I had a suitable place, I could even imagine feeding crows and watching their clever little society from nearby. They have far more character than their dark reputation suggests.
Only after preparing this post did I realize that I had already shared this photograph before. I checked so carefully and still surprised myself. Well done, confused BE. Hihihi. 🥰 The preview below leads to that earlier appearance in the archive.
A crow in flight may be too fast to pose, but it leaves behind exactly the kind of imperfect moment I enjoy remembering.
