The Quiet Confidence of a Crow Silhouette at Sunset
A crow silhouette at sunset stands on a seaside railing, facing the bright line where the sun meets the water. The bird is almost completely dark, but the sea keeps moving behind it and the sky turns the whole scene amber. It feels like a quiet portrait with no need for a studio.
This is the second photograph in my charismatic crow series. The first one is waiting in the preview below. I love both of them for the same reason: less about the camera or lens, more about being in the right place at the right time. If someone else had been standing there, they might have made the same photograph. I am not claiming magic. Well, maybe a little. 😁
The file has lost some detail through the site’s two rounds of resizing, and that bothers me more than it probably should. A photo site should show photographs at their best. I also leave the EXIF information alone, yet compression does not always treat those details kindly. Future uploads deserve a better plan.
There are many more photographs waiting after those improvements, so this problem belongs to tomorrow’s list. For now, a crow silhouette at sunset has already done its job: it turned a railing, a sea and a few minutes of evening into one of my favorite frames. Stay well. 🥰
