The Fluffy Cat on a Wall Who Refused to Move
A fluffy cat on a wall watches the world from the side, showing one green eye and a face full of quiet calculation. The long fur catches the soft light, while the blurred background gives the cat plenty of room to remain mysterious. It looks as if the island has offered a wall, a view and no reason to hurry.
This is the third photograph in my Heybeliada beauty series. The first two are waiting in the previews below. I thought the framing was a little awkward, but I left the image alone. It is not razor sharp, probably because of the camera, resizing and compression, but the cat’s expression still arrives clearly.
I met this girl or boy during a walk on Heybeliada. The cat was sitting on a wall, watching people pass, so I approached quietly and took a few frames. It gave me beautiful poses. Actually, it mostly just stayed still. Sometimes that is more than enough.
A fluffy cat on a wall can make a short walk feel like a formal portrait session. There are many more photographs waiting in the archive, from products and people to animals, planes, nature, cats and crows. For now, this island cat has already made the list feel worthwhile. Stay well. 🥰
