A Green Wind Chime Catches the Light
A green wind chime can make a doorway feel like a small threshold between one mood and the next. In this frame, its translucent discs overlap in soft light, some clear enough to show their marks and others dissolving into a pale green background. The material is hard to name from the photograph, but the light makes every piece feel delicate.
A Gift That Still Greets Me
It was a gift I received while I was living in Bodrum. I hung it beside the entrance, where its gentle sound used to greet me whenever I came home or left. My cousin Simgem gave it to me, and that small connection is part of why I still like seeing it there.
A green wind chime is easy to pass without noticing when it is part of a doorway. Up close, the small differences become the subject: one disc carries a dark mark, another catches a pale reflection, and a third fades almost completely into the light. The frame stays quiet because nothing is trying to compete.
It still hangs above my room door, inside the house. I like that detail because a wind chime does not need an outdoor breeze to keep a memory moving. Sometimes a familiar object is enough to bring a person back into the room for a second. 🥰
What gift in your home still makes you think of the person who gave it to you?
