Rock Rose Flower with Mediterranean Sea View
There are a few islands close to the city where I am. I had been wanting to go there for a long time to both do a semi-nature walk and take photos. I’m doing a full island tour. Even though it is a bit tiring, it feels so, so good to me. Do you like nature walks?
A few weeks ago, I went out to take photos. I walked in crowded areas. BE, who doesn’t really like crowded places, didn’t take a single photo worth sharing all day long =) But while on the island; few people, nature, cats, sea, flowers… 😍
There’s something quietly extraordinary about a rock rose growing wild along the Mediterranean coast. Known botanically as Cistus creticus, this resilient pink wildflower has been part of the Mediterranean landscape for centuries thriving in rocky, sun-drenched soils where little else dares to bloom. In this photograph, a single rock rose takes center stage, its soft pink petals catching the light against a backdrop of olive branches and the endless blue of the sea. It’s a fleeting moment; each rock rose flower lasts only a single day. Yet somehow, that impermanence makes it all the more beautiful.
Taking good photos after a long time really did me good. I still have photos of flowers, cats, landscapes, and seagulls to add. You can follow me either on my website or on Instagram if you like =)(=
