Looking Through a Natural Frame
Natural framing photography can turn a broken tree into a small window. In these three photographs, the dark wood holds the edges while the bright green forest waits beyond it.
All three frames come from almost the same spot. In the first two, I focus beyond the opening, letting leaves and tree trunks glow inside the darkness. In the third, the focus moves back to the splintered, mossy wood beside me. The scene barely changes, but the feeling does. My Nikon D90 still gives me colors I love.

For some reason, Yonca Evcimik's song Fındık Dalları came to mind while I was looking at all this green, so I left the song below. What do these photographs mean? Please do not ask. 😂 Sometimes natural framing photography is simply about finding a secret window and enjoying the color behind it.
For another quiet scene hidden behind layers of green, see a crow resting among green leaves.
