A Cat Beside a Trash Can on Kinaliada
A cat beside a trash can gives us a pretty strong clue about how lunch went. The half-closed eyes, tongue curled across its mouth and deeply satisfied expression make this little island resident look as if it has just finished the best meal of the day.
Yes, that large gray object is really a trash can. Still, the cat’s expression makes me want to promote it to a magic cooking pot. I cannot know what today’s menu included, so we will have to wait until the next mealtime to discover what the magical kitchen serves. 😁
I photographed this scene while wandering around Kinaliada. I love walking around the islands, especially Kinaliada and Heybeliada. A complete island tour brings me incredible joy when the weather is beautiful and the streets are calm.
Weekdays are best. On weekends the crowds can become so intense that you start wondering whether the island might sink. If you have the opportunity while in Istanbul, an island walk is absolutely worth it.
I have never claimed to be a master of these little photo stories. If you did not know that before, now you do. Still, a cat beside a trash can can tell most of the story without my help. 🥰
The preview below finds another island cat peeking between tree trunks and quietly watching the camera.
This story can stay short and delicious. Bon appetit, little friend. 🥰
