The Lucky Word on a Beer Glass with Pouring Beer
A beer glass with pouring beer stands in front of a black-and-white backdrop, and the word VOLE sits right where the golden drink begins. It looks like a tiny advertising joke caught mid-pour: the glass has dressed up for a product photograph, while the beer tries to steal the scene.
The joke is Turkish. We often say "voleyi vurmak," but the correct expression is "voliyi vurmak." It means getting lucky or making a big score, roughly "hitting the jackpot." This glass says VOLE, so the picture lands somewhere between a cold drink, a language lesson and a little bit of luck.
I do not drink much. Every now and then, though, the desire for an ice-cold beer arrives without warning. The white balance in this old frame is not perfect, and the compression has taken some of the shine away. I used to shrink images in two stages, which did not help the desktop quality.
Still, a beer glass with pouring beer can carry a whole mood. I miss stepping into a studio and making the imagined scenes in my head. One day, my own little studio will give those ideas a proper place to land. Until then, VOLE will keep pretending it hit the jackpot. 😊
