A Crow on a Branch During an Island Walk
This crow on a branch looks as if it chose the entire turquoise sky for itself. Perched high on a bare limb, it holds the frame with the calm confidence that crows seem to carry naturally.
My crow photographs are famous, as everyone surely knows. Nobody except me has actually said this yet, but that is only a minor detail. 😁
This frame comes from one of our island trips. I love photographing animal friends because they are wonderful models without trying. They do not need directions, poses or explanations. They simply appear, look magnificent and leave us to keep up.
The image may not be technically perfect, and the sky color has clearly been edited away from nature, yet I like its mood. The dark feathers, spare branches and turquoise background give this crow on a branch all the space it needs to feel like the owner of the scene.
