What a Crow on a Wire Can Hold
This crow on a wire sits inside a world reduced to black, white, and one very quiet pause.
I had just completed my forty-first trip around the sun, so yes, it was a special day. For five years, the colors in my life had felt mostly black and white. Nothing seemed to taste like much. Nothing carried much excitement. I did not know how long that gray stretch would last, but I still wanted to believe that people who understood it could leave the ugliness behind and sail toward brighter mornings.
The bird does not look especially cheerful, and neither was I. Still, a crow on a wire knows something about balance. It stays where it is, watches the open sky, and waits for the next direction. Maybe that is enough for one photograph. 🥰
