Even the Hardest Days Can Bloom

A Rose with Rain Still on Its Petals

This pink rose with water droplets looks as if it has just come through a difficult day and decided to keep its colour anyway. The petals fill one side of the frame, while the dark space beside them leaves room for whatever we are still trying to believe in.

A Little Water, A Lot of Hope

I did not want to leave this photograph buried under a forest of logos, so I searched until I found a cleaner version to place here. Some old photographs survive through imperfect archives, stubborn searching and a little luck. This one deserved another chance to breathe.

I took the photo in the garden of a site in Altinoluk, Balikesir, on July 19, 2014. It was also World Fenerbahce Day, which is a very good excuse to remember the date. The technical note is simple: 50mm, f/3.2. The feeling is less simple.

The water drops make the flower look tired, but not defeated. They sit on the petals like small memories of whatever came before, catching the light without asking to be explained. Even the black background seems to understand that the rose does not need a crowd to hold the frame.

Maybe that is what a pink rose with water droplets can quietly remind us: a day does not have to be perfect to bloom. I hope our days become like flowers. Better still, I hope our whole lives do. 🥰

What helps you keep a little colour in your day when everything around you feels dark?
