A Plant Growing Through a Fence Finds Its Way
This old photograph has stayed with me because of one small detail. A green plant growing through a fence refuses to accept the boundary around it. The wall is solid, the wire is tight and the background falls softly toward the water, but the leaves keep reaching through.
I like photographs that find a little freedom in ordinary places. This one is not loud or dramatic. It simply catches a living thing making its way through a barrier, as if growth has its own quiet plan.
The scene also reminds me that we often notice the fence first. Then, if we look longer, we notice what has crossed it. That small shift is enough to change the whole photograph.
Looking again at this plant growing through a fence, I remember that freedom does not always arrive as a grand escape. Sometimes it is only a leaf finding a gap.
I took this photograph in Bursa Golyazi on December 24, 2012. The place may have been enclosed, but the plant had already found its way out.
What small sign of freedom have you noticed in an unexpected place?
