The Sky Was Never a Cage
This seagull flying through clouds looks like freedom in its most effortless form. Seen from below, it has no road, no border and no need to explain where it is going. The wings are wide, the clouds are moving around it, and the bird seems to belong to a world where direction is simply a choice. I look up at a photograph like this and understand the jealousy immediately.
Pilot or Veterinarian, Never Mind
When I was a child, people asked what I would become when I grew up. I used to answer pilot or veterinarian. I became neither 😂 Perhaps that explains why I have always had a complicated relationship with flying. I envy anything that can leave the ground so easily, especially when it seems to do so without making a plan.
I will not go too deep now. It is a seagull photograph, after all, and we do not need to turn every pair of wings into a life philosophy. Still, I envy this seagull flying through clouds. It moves freely, without limits, exactly as it wants, making something very close to love with the wind. Some creatures spend their lives looking for freedom. Others simply open their wings and let the sky carry them.
I know which one I would rather be. 😊
