The Woman Who Loved Purple, Remembered in a Student Reproduction
The Woman Who Loved Purple was one of the kindest people I met during my school days. She loved Kenan Doğulu and the color purple. She was young, affectionate, hopeful and full of plans, the kind of person whose presence quietly made a room warmer.
When I first started school, I did not feel close to many people. I was around fifteen years older than most of my classmates, so it took time for us to find our way toward one another. In time, we did. She modeled for me during a class assignment, and we even shared the same birthday.
A year or two later, she was gone. Death is strange. It does not stop to ask about age, plans or how much someone is loved. It simply leaves the people behind trying to understand a space that suddenly feels too empty.
The Woman Who Loved Purple is not only about loss. It is also about the warmth she left behind, a school memory, a shared birthday and a moment of trust in front of my camera. I miss you, my wonderfully wild girl. 💜
For this class assignment, we chose a book cover as a visual reference and tried to recreate its feeling in our own way. The photograph above is my student reproduction. The original cover appears below as a source reference: Bolna Roza by Vladimir Voronski, Perseus, ISBN 9789548308472. The book cover is shown solely to identify the visual source for this student study. Rights to the cover remain with their respective holder.
The original Bulgarian URL uses Cyrillic characters, so it appears here in its encoded web format.
