A Daisy That Refused to Rush

A Backlit Daisy Holding the Morning Light

This backlit daisy photo feels like a small refusal to hurry. One white flower stands in the light while the grass, smaller daisies and distant shapes dissolve into warm gold. Everything around it seems to be moving softly, but the flower has found one quiet second and decided to keep it.

Time Moves Fast. The Flower Does Not Need To.

I have forgotten where I took the photograph. It was only three years old, but it did not feel old to me. That is how time behaves: it slips through the sentence while we are still trying to decide whether yesterday was really that long ago.

The 50mm lens and backlight turn the ordinary field into something gentler. The petals glow, the edges become light, and the background stops asking to be identified. Maybe that is why a simple flower can hold a memory so well. It does not need a famous place. It only needs to be there when the light arrives.

Looking at this backlit daisy photo now, I like the contrast between the delicate flower and the speed of everything outside the frame. The daisy is not chasing the season or trying to become anything more impressive. It is simply white, thin and quietly present. 😊

This photograph is from April 2017. Time, you are moving very fast, BE.

What small thing has made you pause recently, even for a few seconds?
