A Figure in the Fog Beneath an Orange Streetlight
A figure in the fog walks toward a road that is almost gone. An orange streetlight catches the branches above, while the rest of the scene slowly disappears into darkness. The person is only a silhouette, but that is enough to make the photograph feel like it is still moving.
I do not know where or when I took this. It stayed quietly in my archive for a long time before finding its way back into the light. Some photographs keep their own secrets, even from the person who made them.
This one is dark, rough around the edges and far from polished. Still, I like it this way. The fog softens everything that could explain the scene and leaves only the feeling of going somewhere without knowing what waits ahead.
That is what stays with me in this figure in the fog. Not a clear answer, not a perfect memory, just one person walking into the dark with a little light above them.
