What an Old Window with Ivy Can Still Hold
The last day of 2020 called for a small New Year's post, so I looked for something alive in the frame. This old window with ivy felt right: a worn pane with a whole green world pressing close around it. I may not manage a grand New Year's share, but this little scene will do. 😁
The window belongs to Kinaliada, Istanbul, photographed in 2020. The chipped frame and metal grille are quiet, almost tired, while the ivy seems to have refused that mood. It keeps climbing, filling the view with fresh green and making the neglected wall feel less abandoned. This old window with ivy is really a reminder that life does not need a perfect view to stay near.
I first thought of Kargo's Renklerin İçinde, then Şairin Elinde. They are old songs now, perhaps, but I still like both. Listen along if you feel like it.
May the new year bring a little more life to every old window, and keep life close even when the glass looks worn. Happy New Year. 🥰
